Dissertation Procastination

As we enter the final month of my dissertation (and dissertations around the country) allow me to list my favourite past times in avoiding the dreaded D.

  • Nap several times a day
  • Bake
  • Shower several times a day
  • Wach copious amounts of YouTube videos
  • Paint nails several times a day
  • Experiment with hair
  • Experiment with make up
  • Plan out your entire life
  • Browse the TopShop Website
  • Convince myself I need and deserve the denim jacket from TopShop
  • Purchase said denim jacket from TopShop
  • Flappy Bird
And, of course, write this blog post.

How to make a life changing decision.

Life. It seems bleak with little prospect and then all of a sudden, you have many, completely different, opportunities thrust at you with a two week deadline to make your choice.

Now, I don't mean to sound ungrateful, I really know what a luxury this decision would be to many people, but with the deadlines come a niggling feeling that whatever choice you make will affect the path of the rest of your life.

And then, when you finally think you have decided, and made inner peace with that decision, someone chips in with their opinion (which in all fairness I have asked for) and then you are back to square 1.

Both oppotunites have positives, and both opportunities have negatives. The more I weigh them up, the more I sway and drown in my indecisive nature.

Option 1- Get a job, earn money, start my (hopefully somewhat successful and challenging) career.

Option 2-Go travelling for a few months. Come back and try and fight for whatever job is left over.

Ah 21st Century problems at their finest, eh?

The Notebook.

Ah, September. The beginning of the new academic year. Time for new starts, and new commitments (like this blog).

This year is the most important year of my life! In 12 mere months I will be sprung in to the real, grown up world (and I still have no idea what I want to be, waaaaaah).

Therefore, I am determined that this year I will stay organised for longer than 2 weeks! And what better way to motivate myself than to treat my self to pretty notebooks.

Now, I know that I should be focussing on actual uni work, but please, have you seen how preeeeeetty these are.

It's love! I know I will actually enjoy making notes/lists/education-in-general with these notebooks in my life.

They even have pretty insides *sobs gently with happiness*

I really need a life.

Blue Eyeshadow

To me, blue eye shadow has bad connotations. It screams eighties. It screams garishness. It screams beauty faux pas.

However, over the past year, I have become, dare I say, a fan of blue eye shadow. Done well, it is simply stunning.

It can be used to add an extra dimension to a smoky eye, or to give a quirky pop of colour underneath the eye.

Personally, my favourite way to use blue is in a smoky eye. The key (for my eyes at least) is to add the colour a bit at a time and BLEND to death.

My must use products are the Daniel Sandler Longlasting Waterproof Eyeliner in Blue Velvet, and Urban Decay's Evidence.

I also find a splash of silver in the inner corner of my eye can open up my eye, and contrasts beautifully with the drama of the navy blue. I tend to use Bourjois as it also contains glitter (swoon).

I just pray to God I look better than those before me in the 80s.

Welcome

"Welcome to my blogspot," I said to no one inpaticular, as no one in the Universe (bar myself) actually knows of it's existence.

Regardless, if anyone ever finds this blog, Ola, Bonjour, Hiya.

What do I want from this blog? A place to vent all my opinions on fashion and beauty, without boring all of my RL friends and family.

That said, I will probably give up in a week.
