To me, blue eye shadow has bad connotations. It screams
eighties. It screams garishness. It screams beauty faux pas.
However, over the past year, I have become, dare I say, a
fan of blue eye shadow. Done well, it is simply stunning.
It can be used to add an extra dimension to a smoky eye, or
to give a quirky pop of colour underneath the eye.
Personally, my favourite way to use blue is in a smoky eye. The key (for my eyes at least) is to add the colour a bit at a time and BLEND to death.
My must use products are the Daniel Sandler Longlasting Waterproof Eyeliner in Blue Velvet, and Urban Decay's Evidence.
I also find a splash of silver in the inner corner of my eye can open up my eye, and contrasts beautifully with the drama of the navy blue. I tend to use Bourjois as it also contains glitter (swoon).
I just pray to God I look better than those before me in the 80s.
